Francesco Greco Memorial Project

Posted by Maria Bowdler on Thursday, 1st of February, 2018

Francesco Greco developed a model of international hiking exchanges which enabled many to go walking in a foreign country accompanied by native hikers, seeing places through their eyes and making new friends of various nationalities. Our club has participated in numerous such exchanges since 1999 and we have been asked to contribute generously to:

a) fund a memorial trail in his beloved Apuan Alps, near Pisa in Italy - Trail No.181 will be restructured and equipped with new wooden signs

b) provide opportunities for youth mountaineers exchanges.
