Northern Territory Campground Hosts Opportunity

Posted by Maria Bowdler on Tuesday, 14th of November, 2023

Parks and Wildlife Commission of the NT have recently commenced a Campground Host programme and want to share the opportunity with bushwalking groups around the country. It’s a great way for keen walkers to check out the trails in one of seven unique and incredible parks.

The campground host programme is similar to those run in other states around the country. Being a host is a great opportunity to have a more in-depth experience in a park, get to know the rangers and become part of the team who manage these incredible landscapes. In exchange for free camping, hosts spend a few hours each day completing tasks such as:

  • greeting guests and helping them find their campsite
  • providing information about the park and the local area
  • doing routine maintenance and making sure the campsite is clean and tidy
  • liaising with park rangers regarding site conditions, facilities and any issues

Outside of that, there’s plenty of time to explore the park and get out on the walking tracks! Depending where you may choose to host, you could be close by to the world famous Larapinta Trail or the beautiful Tabletop Track in Litchfield, amongst many others.

Here are the links to the POSTER and BROCHURE for further information and how to register your interest.

There are campground host sites located in 7 of our national parks:
